Mixu has been out of action since the end of last year after undergoing surger on his knee. It was the second time in a few months he'd had his knee operated on, initially damaging it against Ross County back in October.
During the close season there have been various rumours linking him with a move away to Love Street, however as Saints said they would offer him a new deal if he proved his fitness he decided to stay to do that, but he now looks likely to move on.
When the St. Johnstone job came up towards the end of last season he was linked to it and it seems a career in football management is his long term aim (he coached the reserve team as well as the under 19s last season). At 37 he isn't getting any younger and it was unlikely he'd play for us again so it seems sensible for him to move on.
The Cowdenbeath job is a good start for him, and it should be remembered that Craig Levein started there before ending up at Hearts. Could Mixu be a future Hibs manager?
All the best Mixu and thanks for your few months effort on the pitch and all your coaching. Your goal against Partick Thistle that sent us top was my most enjoyable memory at Love Street for a good few years.
