The player/coach was signed from St. Johnstone in the summer and was one of the main reasons for our good early season form, creating and scoring goals. However, he picked up an injury against Ross Cuunty which resulted in him needing an operation on his knee. Saints form tumbled and, desptie him playing a few games since, he needed another operation and his season is over.
He gets rid of his crutches next week and the 38 year old Finn said: "'I feel I can play next season and that's helping me come back from this injury."
If he gets fit he would be a great asset for Saints, so let's hope it's true.
Meanwhile, on the subject of large strikers who's career looks finished, Mark Yardley is now on the look out for another club after being axed by Albion Rovers.
Saints legend Yards, who it was claimed this week weighed over 20 stone, said: "'I am 35 and know I'm near the end of my career but I can still do a job for someone. I'm not 20 stone - that claim's just nonsense. But I've not started a game since November and need to get match fit. The club want full-time players so I am just winding up my deal and looking to move on."
