McKernon made his debut against Celtic earlier this season, although that's his only first team appearance to date. Instead, he's been playing for the under-19s and doing pretty well.
With McLean and McKernon both getting long term deals, it seems a few youngsters are working their way through the youth set-up and will get their chance in the first team.
