New ground, same name

It's been rumoured for a few weeks that this would be the new name, but Chic Young today confirmed this in a blog on the BBC website. It's a bit unimaginative and many fans wanted something a bit more creative. One alternative was Westmarch - the name of the ground Saints played at when they played on a site a few hundred yards from the new ground.
What's done is done, though, and St Mirren Park it is. No doubt the fans will use another name for it like Westmarch or Greenhill Road!
The new ground will be officially opened by Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond, ahead of the first match there against Kilmarnock on January 31.
