With our home kit being black and white and our away kit being light blue, there was always going to be a problem when we faced Kilmarnock. One option was to use last season's black away kit, but instead the club have opted for a special third strip.
Normal kit sponsors, Braehead Shopping Centre and Compass Private Hire will not be on the shirt. Instead, it will be two charity's - Clyde One's Cash for Kids Appeal and Kan Do-Scottish project. The latter is run by Saints legend Tony Fitzpatrick, who also owns Compass Private Hire, so it's perhaps no surprise he was willing to make the change!
It's a good gesture from the club to change the sponsors and fair play to the two firms missing out. The kit looks pretty smart and you have to wonder why we didn't go with this for our away kit as the blue one is honking!
Only 99 of the shirts will be made, around half of which will be used for the first team. Some of the remainder will be sold to raise cash for the charities, while some will be used as competition prizes.
