How long that stays the situation remains to be seen. One point out of four games and a League Cup exit, coming on the back of a poor second half of last season (in the league at least) has made a lot of fans unhappy and resulted in a number of them calling for his head.
An article in today's Express (http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/426161/EXCLUSIVE-Danny-Lennon-faces-chop-at-St-Mirren) suggested he was close to the axe, with the board of directors deeply unhappy with what was happening. The Express is usually fairly accurate for Saints related stuff so there is probably a fair bit of truth in the story - although it's hardly a huge revelation that the directors aren't best pleased with our current form!
The article only cranked up the speculation online, with talk during the day of board meetings, that Lennon had been sacked and then that he had been given four games (and, bizarrely, a new defender) to save his job. In between times former Saints captain and manager Tony Fitzpatrick said Lennon should be given more time, although he also claimed we were unlucky on Saturday and there was no pressure on the current boss (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23926247).
As of yet there has been nothing official from the club - either to say the board were backing their manager or had started the search for a new one. Herald journalist Graeme Macpherson revealed on Twitter that no change was imminent and that the manager would be supported, while the BBC's Chick Young painted a rather different picture and believes the manager won't survive - signing off with the comment: "I would be surprised if Danny is in charge of St Mirren for the next scheduled game."
Clear as mud then - although given Chick's track record we should probably expect an announcement about Danny getting a new contract by the end of the week!
