Gray was one of three trialists who joined up with the squad for pre-season training last week, having enjoyed two spells on loan at Partick Thistle in the past two years. Despite that, they'd only offered him a trial, which should have set the alarm bells ringing. Sure enough, manager Gus MacPherson has decided he's not good enough without seeing him play.
No real surprise or grief at the decision, but it now seems Gray is on trial with Motherwell. It'll be interesting to see if they offer him a deal or he ends up going on trial for a fourth time!
