Cuthbert played nearly 30 times during his loan from Celtic last season and featured in the superb win over Rangers. He was probably our best central defender and most fans would have been quite happy to see him return. However, when he left he said he was keen to force himself into the Celtic first team.
It now seems he has been told that won't happen and he has joined Swindon Town. He'll be a fixture in the first team there and will be on a far bigger wage than we could have offered if we'd wanted to sign him permanently. They also paid around £100,000 for him, which is more than we could afford.
All the best Scott.
