According to a spokesperson involved in selling the club's majority shareholding, discussions are at an "early stage" while more information is provided, and the focus is on staying in the SPL.
It emerged yesterday that a consortium was looking at a £2million bid for the club, with Ayshire haulage firm Maxi Group supplying the money.
The business is pretty successful, especially in a recession, and was started by Gerry Atkinson. It is now run by his son, Richard, who is believed to be the man interested in Saints - but not with any Maxi Group involvement. Instead, it would be with another party Richard is involved with. From what I can find, he is the director of another haulage firm - now owned by Maxi Group - and also with the Scottish Equestrian Association. Keep your donkey jokes to yourselves!
The group are looking to get the community more involved with the club, which would open the way to obtaining grants from the Government and the National Lottery.
