No To N'Toya

Last updated : 24 August 2007 By Stuart Gillespie
N'Toya came off the bench to score against Rangers reserves and a week later started and scored against Caley Thistle's second string. That day, MacPherson was down south scouting, but assistant manager Andy Millen was playing and would have had a good look at him. Reports from fans were all positive, with the general consensus being he should be signed ASAP - a more definite opinion than that held about former trialist Roy Dayan.

Quite why MacPherson hasn't decided to sign him is anyone's guess, and his comments about the trial ending (which you can read elsewhere) remind me of Tom Hendrie not deciding to sign Paul Ritchie - and we know how that turned out. If it's down to finances then why not say so - and why take him on trial in the first place?

Let's hope MacPherson's scouting trip has turned up a decent player or two.
