The young defender has signed a new deal to keep him at the club until 2016 - one year shorter than Naismith's new contract, which was signed yesterday. Both have been well earned and show the club has plenty of faith in the youngsters coming through from the academy.
Kelly spent part of last season on loan at East Stirlingshire has been impressive for Saints in the last few months and hasn't lost his place since making his first start for the senior time against Aberdeen at the end of September. He's looked solid at leftback and also shown an ability to get forward, with a couple of shots in Sunday's game against Ross County almost yielding his first senior goal.
A good piece of business by Saints. Now let's get Marian Kello, Kenny McLean and Paul McGowan on longer deals please - and let's extend Conor Newton's contract while we're at it!
