Potter was a key part of the double winning side of 2005/06 after signing from Clyde and has been at the club ever since, being made captain in 2008. The support is pretty split on his abilities and he is often a target for abuse and made a scapegoat - sometimes unfairly. It's fair to say there are plenty parts of his game he could improve on, but then the same could be said about many of our players. If that wasn't the case, they wouldn't be playing for us!
Clearly, McInnes sees something in him and has already told Saints boss Danny Lennon he plans to offer him a deal. It'll then be up to Potter to decide where his future lies - and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him move on due to the abuse he takes.
