The tour was being arranged by Jeff King, who is a fan of both clubs and has connections with each, and also by SMiSA. Trivial matters such as accomodation and training facilities were all sorted out and it looked like Saints were set for their first pre-season tour for a few years.
However, the tour has not been given the go ahead as it is believed Saints already have plans for pre-season, probably more exciing friendlies at Dumbarton and Stirling. The possibility of touring in the future is still open.
It's a pity the tour fell through as we could all have had a laugh at Blyth's assistant manager Graham Fenton, who left Love Street after our relegation in an attempt to move on to bigger and better things.
