Reinforcements on the way

Many Saints fans feel the squad is light on numbers but it seems that's going to be out right in the coming days. Whether the players are of the required quality remains to be seen.

We've been struggling in attack but it looks like we may get not one, but two new strikers in. One seems to be a striker that is coming in from France to sign, rather than on trial. There's no word as to whether it's a permanent deal or a loan, but it probably won't be Thierry Henry or Karim Benzema. Let's just hope it's not Moussa Dagnogo.

An Estonian striker is currently on trial at the club and could also be signed. It's believed the player is Artur Rattel, who has represented his country at under-21 level and is currently contracted to Levadia Tallinn. If the 20-year-old comes in it would probably be on loan but, like countryman Sander Puri, he'd be coming to us after failing to win a deal at Kilmarnock.

The other potential signing is Jake Caprice, who could be coming on loan from Blackpool. The defender, who Lennon believes can also operate on the wing, has also been on trial at the club for the last week and could also be coming on loan. He'd add some pace, which is something we're desperately needing.

Let's hope if these guys come in they're good enough to do a job for us and aren't just signings for the sake of them. It's been obvious for some time we've needed new players and the fact we're only getting bodies in at this late stage could be seen by many disgruntled supporters as the last throw of the dice from a manager who is under increasing pressure.
