Robertson agrees to be a Buddie

Last updated : 09 February 2012 By Stuart Gillespie

The Cowden skipper has been in impressive form this season and scored a stunning goal against Hibs in the Scottish Cup. It's one of six goals the former Hearts kid has scored this season and he has played a key role in helping the Central Park side to the top of the second division.

Robertson is highly rated and a number of clubs were after him so Saints have done well to get him to agree to a two year deal. However, it's not really that big a surprise considering Danny Lennon managed Cowdenbeath before joining Saints in 2010 before bringing Darren McGregor, Iain Jenkins, Gareth Wardlaw, Paul McQuade and Peter Bradley with him.

Lennon said at the time of his appointment that most of the better Cowdenbeath had been tied up on new contracts, the majority two year deals. Those will be expiring in the summer and it'll be interesting to see if Robertson is just the start of another influx of Blue Brazilians to the club.
