The Ross story appeared on the BBC website a few days ago, with it claiming the deal had been done. MacPherson - who usually doesn't comment until pre-contract agreements until the season is over, even when everyone knows the player has signed - has now revealed that Ross has signed a two-year deal at Love Street. While most folk see him as a replacement for David van Zanten, MacPherson has said he wants to keep Vanzy as well.
Having already surprised everyone by commenting on a pre-contract deal before the end of the season, MacPherson has gone even further by giving details of soneone else he's after. Usually he only does this when he's not confident of getting his man, so perhaps we're not the only ones after Wyness. It's been a rumour floating around the web for a wee while (as has one we already had three players signed up for next season_, with many people believing he was already signed up. He hasn't scored for Caley Thistle since October - although has still managed to score more goals than all bar one of our players this season - and has only scored ten goals in the last few years. However, it was while partnered with him (among other players) that Craig Dargo did so well so perhaps MacPherson is hoping for similar results if he puts the pair back together.
With several players linked with the exit door this week, the Saints boss has admitted that he expects to be signing more players than he has done in recent years, adding he is regularly in England looking for potential signings. According to some media reports, we're already in talks with three or four other players.
