Lambie's thinking is that a new manager might not want to keep him, which is fair enough. Ross has been plagued by injuries since signing for THistle two years ago, although he has played in their last few matches.
Ian left Saints for Thistle, who were then in the SPL, in January 2003. He arrived at Love Street in the summer of 1999 and helped Saints to the first division title. His crossing was superb, and in the three games he scored in Saints scored at least five in all of them! Sadly he was injured for most of the SPL season, considered one of the main reasons for our relegation. On his return the next season he was fantastic, though he did manage to get sent off a few times. He was poor in 2002/03, partly because Simon Lappin was now playing wide left, and moved to Partick during the transfer window.
A return to love Street for Rossco? Unlikely, as he's injury prone and we already have Simon Lappin, Laurie Ellis and Ryan McCay to play down the left. Hopefully he'll find a new club and won't be back to haunt us.
Meanwhile Mikko Paatelainen, brother of Saints striker Mixu, is still on trial at Raith Rovers and could win a permanent deal.
