We desperately need a new keeper. Chris Smith is out until the end of the year while there are also doubts over Mark Howard's fitness. Both are relatively young, while Gallacher has plenty of experience from his time with Dundee United and Norwich City.
The Pars are supposedly willing to let Gallacher leave for a nominal fee due to his high wages. Rumours a few weeks ago suggested the Fake Saints had made an offer of around £20,000 for his services, although it seems Dunfermline wanted more.
If we can afford Gallacher - in terms of a transfer fee and wages - he would be a fine signing. At 29 he is just about the right age for a goalkeeper and would no doubt relish a return to the top flight.
