Saints are in need of a powerful striker and the former West Ham United man might just be what we need. Saints Manager Gus MacPherson has confirmed that the club want to sign him.
He said: "Billy Mehmet is a still a Dunfermline player but he is somebody we enquired about a few weeks ago and if he is available we would be keen to speak to him."
Sadly, Ross County are also after Mehmet and it seems likely that he will go there instead, with new boss John Robertson claiming that terms between County and the player have already been agreed.
