After finding out he wasn't in the lineup, Mitchell went to the pub along with team mates Steve Fulton and Andy Dowie. Apparently they weren't drinking and just needed a place to talk. When Partick manager Dick Campbell found out he "sacked" the players, which actually meant the three never played for the club again. Dowie and Fulton were released at the end of the season, whilst Mitchell was put on the transfer list.
The former Clyde man is an attacking midfielder and is just the sort of player we could use. He has done well in the past but doesn't seem to have done much recently.
St. Johnstone, Hamilton and Morton are also rumoured to be interested in signing him. With him still being under contract, whoever did sign him would probably need to pay Partick a fee.
