Saints Miss Out On Finnigan

Saints had been hoping to sign Finnigan on loan for the rest of the season, but Newcastle were only willing to let him go permanently as they didn't plan on offering him a new contract. Once it became clear he was available, other clubs tried to sign him and Saints didn't stand a chance of getting him.

This is rather worrying, and could mean no new signings by the end of the January transfer window. Quite where the money from increased gate and TV revenue has gone is anyone's guess, but that's a rant for another day!

It also looks like Daryll Duffy won't be signing for Saints either, as he was too expensive.
