This is not the first time Gus MacPherson has failed in a bid to bring the former Rangers man to the club, as he was supposedly after his services in January 2008. After three injury hit seasons at Motherwell, the Fir Park side were only prepared to him offer a one year deal, while we were supposedly offering him one double that. However, Falkirk were also prepared to offer a two year deal and that's the one he has gone for.
In one way, this is a blow as we are desperately short of centre halves. However, he has also had a terrible time with injuries in recent years and could well have spent half his time in the stands. Perhaps this is a lucky escape - although we still need two new defenders.
