When Dundee were last relegated to the first division in 1995 they faced Saints at home on the opening day and won 2-0. Hopefully they won't repeat that feat. The match sees two of the title challengers going head to head straight away and should be a good game. I am, of course, assuming it will be Dundee and that any appeal they have against the penalty Livingston received will be unsuccessful.
Saints first home game of the season will be against Stranraer the week after. The busy festive period sees a trip to Dumfries to play Queen of the South on Boxing day, whilst Brechin visit Love Street on Hogmany with Clyde coming a few days later.
Saints final game of the season will be at home against St. Johnstone, a match which could be our last ever at Love Street. Will we have a nice, shiny trophy to mark the occasion? Hopefully.
The league season kicks off on August 6th, with Saints playing Forfar at Love Street in the League Challenge Cup the week before.
