Saints Start With Trip North

It's not the best of fixtures to start with, and most people had assumed we were going to start with a home game so that we could raise the flag. Our record in Inverness is nothing short of abysmal, and we've often been on the receiving end of some 4-0 hammerings. It also means we'll be back there on New Year's Day!

However, it does get it out of the way and means that if we happen to get them in the bottom six split, we should be at home. With no expectation it won't be a disaster if we lose.

The Motherwell game, however, is vitally important and we must take at least something from the match. We beat them in the Scottish Cup in January and the same sort of performance would go down well. After this game we play Celtic at Parkhead before home games against Aberdeen and Dundee United, so we must be looking to take at least five points from these home games.

Saints three home games against the Old Firm, in October, November and April, will all take place on a Sunday as they are being screened by Setanta, who have so far chosen a whole one game that doesn't include either of the two Glasgow sides. And that's the Edinburgh derby.

Due to the money grabbers in football, Mirren Mad is not allowed to post all the fixtures on here, or even link to or name sites that have them. Please don't post them on the message board. If you want to see the rest of them, go to another website. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out which one!

Well done the SPL fixture "computer", if such a thing exists. it seems that the level of thought into this year's fixtures has consisted of taking last year's, replacing Livingston with us and then reversing them!
