Fans who were at yesterday's game seem to have mixed views about Innes' contribution, with some saying he did well and would be good enough in the SPL, whilst others seem to think he did poorly and should not be signed under any circumstances.
Mirren mad revealed last night that Innes may be the trialist, a theory that was arrived at from knowing his surname was Innes and using such scientific technology as Google and Football Manager.
Saints boss Gus MacPherson has made no secret of his desire to play with a 4-4-2, and a left back is all that is needed for that to happen. Innes, who has also played for Chesterfield and Oldham Athletic (where he played alongside new Saints player/coach Stuart Balmer) may fit the bill.
The 27 year old is not an out and out left back, however, and is apparently more comfortable in midfield. Suppose it's just a case of wait and see.
