Saints boss Gus MacPherson revealed earlier in the week that we would have a player on trial for the next few days but he wasn't prepared to say who it was. It seems someone forgot to tell Caley Thistle manager Craig brewster that though as he has revealed today that Prunty is on trial at Saints.
Earlier in the summer Prunty had a trial with second division side Partick Thistle, but reports over why they didn't take him are varied. Some people claim they didn't want him, others claim he rejected their offer whilst another claim is that he left after a morning's training because the facilities were poor!
Prunty was linked with a loan move to Saints from Celtic two years ago, when he was scoring goals for fun in the under 21 side. It never came off, and in January 2004 he moved to Aberdeen. After scoring two goals for them, he moved to Caley Thistle last summer and scored a further four goals.
Not an impressive scoring record than and it seems he was mainly used from the bench. The Caley Thistle support seem pretty split on him so whether signing him (if he impresses in training) would be a good thing or not remains to be seen.
