Saints To Face Ayr

It means a quick return to Ayr for Stewart Kean, who only moved to Saints from there in December. Andy Millen and Mark Crilly are two other former Ayr players who will be looking forward to facing their old club. Title winning Ludovic Roy and Barry McLaughlin are both at Somerset, whilst John Hillcoat is a goalkeeping coach and former trialist Dougie Ramsay is still there.

Of the two options, Ayr was probably the better. We'll get slightly more money as they'll provide a few more home fans and it's closer to Paisley. With Stranraer looking for promotion from division two at the moment, it is probably the slightly easier of the ties, atlthough both teams would have provided tough opposition.

Let's hope Gus MacPherson tells the players it won't be easy after the disaster against Forfar earlier in the season.
