The two Cities were due to play last Saturday but, like so many games, the tie was called off due to a frozen pitch. The away draw means Saints fans won't know if the game against Motherwell on January 3 will be the last ever match at Love Street as any replay would have to be played there rather than the new ground.
On paper, it's a good tie - Brechin are in the second division while Edinburgh City play in the East of Scotland league in the same division as Spartans. However, we often struggle against smaller sides - especially in recent years - and it is not a tie to be taken lightly. If our poor form continues, there is a real chance of an upset.
