The much travelled shot-stopper was drafted in last year from Ayr United following the departures of Mark Howard and Chris Smith. He was back-up to Paul Gallacher, making 11 appearances when the more experienced keeper got injured, and acquitted himself reasonably well.
Personally, I would like to have seen us bring in another keeper. While Samson was OK last season, he has a history of being error prone and I feel the gap between him and Gallacher is too big for their to be any real competition for places.
However, if Gallacher signs a new deal it means we have a key area of the team completely sorted - a good thing this early in the summer.
