Simon already has several under 21 caps, and will have a chance to add another one in the friendly against Sweden. He has also scored for the under 20s against Portugal. Simon hasn't been in great form this season, but it's good that he is still getting into the squad.
Combe made the under 21 squad a few times when he was with Saints, who he left in the summer of 1998. He made the Scotland B squad just after Berti Vogts was made manager, but I don't think he played. Combe has played for Dundee United and Bradford City, and is currently at Kilmarnock. he has a unique record, as he is the only goalkeeper to be sent off two games running in the Scottish league, although the games were over two years apart!
Whether Combe deserves to be in the squad remains to be seen, and he almost certainly won't play. Personally I'd rather Craig Hinchcliffe got a call up.
