The former Clyde and Millwall frontman hardly featured last year due to injuries, but looked to have put those problems behind him in recent months. He scored his first Saints goal against Falkirk and followed that up by starting against Motherwell on Saturday. However, he was stretchered off just before the break and it has now been revealed he suffered ligament damage in his knee.
This is a major blow for both the player and Saints as we now have just two fit, first team strikers available - although Dennis Wyness may shortly be recalled from his loan spell with Queen of the South. With Brighton's contract up in June, it could be that this latest injury means he'll never play for the club again.
Get well soon Tom.
