Work is still being done on the ground but yesterday's announcement effectively brings to an end more than six years of work on the project.
The news that Saints were first trying to sell Love Street broke in late 2002 and initially it looked as if the ground would become a Morrisons. Planning permission was granted in 2005 - despite council officials recommending the proposals should be rejected. The ground was eventually sold to Tesco, but this was only made official in April 2007! Work started the following January and is still being carried out as the club puts the finishing touches to its new home.
We've been receiving some great media coverage recently and the last couple of days have added to that, with double page spreads in The Daily Record and The Sun as well as coverage on Sky Sports News. It's only going to increase ahead of the final league game at Love Street against Motherwell a week on Saturday.
