There have been rumours online for numerous weeks that Teale, who joined the Buddies last summer, is set to sign for Charles Green's Rangers and play in the third division next season. There was never anything official, it seemed to be a mixture of hunches, guesses and speculation. Basically, once Rangers are allowed to sign players they will make a move for the former Scotland international.
However, it seems no one had told Danny Lennon. In yesterday's Paisley Daily Express the Saints boss said: "I have not had a bid yet. I heard that rumour about Gary Teale last Thursday and I picked up on it again on Sunday. It’s very fresh to me because there’s been no contact and I haven’t even spoken to the player about it."
So that's that. Except later yesterday afternoon the Sky Sports website carried an article about Rangers trying to sign ian Black and Craig Beattie. It also mentioned Teale, saying that transfer talks had been held. Very odd.
Teale is one of the highest earners at Greenhill Road so it may benefit the club to move him on, but as far as the manager is concerned he's going nowhere. Yet.
