Lennon confirmed yesterday that he had offered the leftback - who has been training with the Saints squad since pre-season began - a contract and it had been accepted. The only stumbling block was in the Dutch FA processing the relevant paperwork, which has now come through.
Tesselaar, 22, started off his career with AZ Alkmaar and spent the last two seasons on loan at lower league Telstar. He has signed a one year contract for Saints after playing in friendlies against Queen's Park, Ayr United and Dumbarton and will fill the leftback role vacated by Jure Travner.
Lennon also said yesterday that if the Dutchman signed, he would almost certainly be the final signing of the summer so it looks as if our new look squad is complete.
