Thank you and goodbye

I've been in charge of the site for more than 12 years. When I started we were in the last six months or so of the Tom Hendrie era. The club was in a dire state on and off the park. We were battling relegation to the second division and were losing key players to other teams just to balance the books.

The change in those 12 years has been incredible. We're now established in the Premiership. We've moved from Love Street to a new ground. We've won the first division and the Challenge Cup. We've been to more League Cup Finals than in the rest of the club's history - one ending in heartbreak and the other ending in glory. We've beaten the Old Firm. We've signed guys we could only have dreamed of when we were kicking around at the bottom end of the first division.
It's been a great journey.

However, a lack of time and, if I'm honest, a lack of motivation means I'll no longer be running the site. Aside from match reports and previews and bits about the under-20s there's little on the site and most of what I've mentioned you can get elsewhere. I don't have the time to write columns on a regular basis and I haven't updated the player profiles for ages. It promises to be an interesting summer with talk of changes in manager and ownership so, having decided to go, I thought it best I step aside before that all kicks off!

It's been great fun and thank you to everyone who has visited the site and the handful who have contributed. I originally started this to boost my CV while trying to become a journalist. I've been one for more than seven years now so it's no longer needed on that front. It's time to let someone else have a go and anyone interested should get in touch with Footy Mad. You don't need to know anything about web design, just be able to write articles. It's handy for anyone trying to become a journalist. If you do take over the site let me know and I'll set you up with access to the existing Twitter and Facebook accounts - there's no point setting up new ones.

All the best and come on ye Saints!

Stuart
