The news comes from The Official Site. McGowne has signed a two year deal with the club, after leaving Love Street for St. Johnstone in 1992. Saints are his 4th club inside a year, as he was with Kilmarnock last summer before moving to Dundee United. Partick Thistle signed him during the transfer window, and now he's back at his first club. It appears there was other interest in the big 33 year old central defender, most likely from Falkirk and St. Johnstone.
The news involving Lavety isn't exactly what I was hoping for, as the bit about Bath Uni makes it look likely we won't be signing him. However, two things should be remembered. First of all, the club have previously said they weren't prepared to let anyone train with them unless they had a view to signing them. Secondly, Martin Baker was also using the facilities this time last year. He was invited to train with the first team squad in November, and then signed.
Clutching at straws I know, but I live in hope!
The Evening Times claims as well as McGowne signing, Stevie Woods will also sign today.
