The van in the car park was supposed to open at 10am, but by 9.15 the queue was so great that it was opened early. Saints chairman Stewart Gilmour and other directors were responsible for selling the tickets, and by 9.40 they were all gone, twenty minutes before they were supposed to be on sale!
There were 1000 tickets available to season ticket holders, and with Saints having 1600 there was still a large queue by the time the tickets were sold out. Some people who had turned up at around half nine complained that the tickets were not supposed to go on sale until 10am, failing to realise that they would still have failed to get a ticket.
If you didn't manage to get a ticket, never fear as I did so you can read the match report here on Sunday night. Bet that makes you all feel better!
