The council have been asking Saints for somewhere in the region of twenty reports from surveyors, covering things such as the traffic and environmental effects on the area (like there is much environment to damage in Paisley).
The council say that they need these reports before they can even consider our application. If it takes three to four months before we may get a resolution, this doesn't leave much time for appeals or clarifications before the bank's deadline.
St. Mirren chairman Stewart Gilmour said: "The bank want their money back. St Mirren must have a decision in place by the beginning of next year, we must either have planning permission and are moving on or we will have to look at an alternative disposal of St Mirren Park.
"I’m convinced that if the bank see we have a cast iron plan in place they will wait and let it see out its outcome but they wish something positive to get their money back by the beginning of next year. If we can’t get planning permission for a supermarket and new stadium then we will have to look at selling to property developers which will help clear the debt but will be nowhere near enough to build a new ground."
Fingers crossed we get permission for the supermarket then, as a Saints without a home would be terrible.
