On the few occasions he featured for the first team he didn't look too impressive and he hasn't been near the squad since being sent off against Hearts in the third game of the season. He also suffered an injury, but his reserve performances have been far from special. Other players have been far more impressive in their trial spells and not been offered deals so you really have to wonder why Gus macPherson signed him - and the evidence backs that up.
Tonet is the third player to be told he can go in recent months, with Ryan McCay and Craig Molloy also told they are free to find a new club. Molloy has since joined Stenhousemuir, but it shows just how far out of the picture the other two are that they aren't even featuring for the reserves despite our lack of left sided players.
