Russell and Lappin haven't signed yet, but if they do the deal will extend their contracts by a further year. Lappin has had a poor season after impressing last year, but he has improved recently now that he has been moved into central midfield. Russell has done well for himself in recent weeks, now that he is getting a chance, and has scored four goals this season.
The departure of Woods comes as no surprise. He played a few games last season whilst Craig Hinchcliffe was injured without really impressing and has been an ever present on the bench this year. He is also the club's goalkeeper coach so I guess we'll need a new one of them as well.
Watch out for next week's issue of the Rumour Mill to see who else might be leaving.
