With a move to a new stadium taking place sometime in the summer of 2007, if everything goes according to plan, Saints are to save money and play for a year without it, although they have said they'll install it if neccessary. However, with Livingston chairman Pearse Flynn (amongst others) threatening some rather strange legal action if we're given dispensation, it looks as if it will be going in.
MacPherson told BBC Scotland's "90 Minutes" program last night: "My understanding of it is that we will have to lay undersoil heating. It's at a cost of between £150,000 and £180,000.
"Because of the SPL criteria we have to do that, we don't have the new stadium signed, sealed and delivered, it's taking a wee bit longer to sell Love Street and we will have to undersoil heating, but that will be done."
MacPherson went on to say that some of the system may be able to be used at the new ground and that installing undersoil heating would rule out the possibility of paying transfer fees for players in the summer.
