Wardlaw was one of many players Danny Lennon brought with him from Cowdenbeath last season, but while he worked hard he struggled to score goals. However, he did score the goal that kept us in the SPL so will always be a bit of a cult hero among Saints fans.
The former postie was apparently told by Lennon he would get a new deal, but was let go at the end of the season. After a spell training with Falkirk, he has signed for Ayr United - who were his first senior club in 2004. He's played for Raith Rovers, Cowdenbeath and ourselves since then.
Good luck Gareth - although don't embarrass us when we head to Somerset for a friendly in a few weeks!
