The possiblity that Carey would return after his successful loan spell in 2010 has had Saints fans excited for a few weeks now. Saints want him and he'd love to return. However, the longer things go on, the more you wonder if the move will actually happen.
It seems Carey's "people" are trying to prise him out of the final year of his Celtic deal, although they're unlikely to let him walk away for nothing. One possiiblity is Saints pay a small fee and promise to give Celtic most of any future fee - similar to the deal that saw Paul McGowan move to Saints earlier in the summer.
The fans aren't the only ones getting impatient as gaffer Danny Lennon said: “We will be as patient as we can but Graham needs to get his situation sorted out with Celtic. We are well down the road with our preparations and will shortly start to get into our pre-season fixtures and that could be a problem. I know Graham is keen to come to St Mirren but we can’t wait forever.”
