There are three bits of Saints related news I've been able to find. The first is that it looks like midfielder Ricky Gillies will finally get his testimonial. Previous Saints testimonial years haven't worked well. Norrie McWhirter's lasted about 18 months and he got a testimonial against Kilmarnock. Better than Barry McLaughlin who didn't get one at all! Ricky's game looks likely to be a money spinner against Celtic, and will take place in January. It had been expected to take place in a few weeks, just before international matches, but Celtic wanted to send a strong side. Full credit to Martin O'Neill for that.
The other two bits of news involve former Saints and red cards. Former Saints keeper Ludovic Roy managed to get sent off for headbutting(!) a Forfar player a few weeks ago inside ten minutes! Despite having sat out a game already, it looks like he might get another suspension on top of that.
Ross County player, and former Saints striker, Steven McGarry is trying to have a red card overturned. He was sent off last weekend for violent play, but County boss Alex Smith believes that TV evidence will clear him. Hope he's not going on the Scotsport cameras.
And that's the news.
