The community interest company was meant to put in its final offer on Monday. With more than £10,000 secured in monthly pages, things were put off until today as membership of the 87 club (costing £3,000) and 1877 club (costing £25,000) were below the required numbers.
A bid was therefore due to be made today and representatives of 10000Hours met with the selling consortium. No official news has yet emerged, however an article on the BBC website claims the consortium will take an in-depth look at the offer and it may be another fortnight before there is a decision.
This is rather odd. We were told that last Friday was the deadline and then it was extended, with today due to be a final, final deadline and a decision made. Now it seems it may drag on for another few weeks - although the BBC could be wrong on that one.
I'm sure everyone wants to see an end to this, whether or not they are in favour of the CIC. A joint statement from 10000Hours and the consortium - the first I can remember - is expected tomorrow. My money's on another deadline...
