The idea is that every so often I post details of rumours linking Saints with a signing or someone leaving Love Street that appear on the web, in the papers or somewhere else. If a rumour turns out to be true or false, then I say as much in the next issue. If a player signs or leaves without there being a rumour, then he won't appear here.
The sharp eyed amongst you may have noticed this article appearing briefly last night. It was online for a few minutes before I took it down for a day after Alex Burke signed, partly because it included a claim we wouldn't sign Burke!
IN
Charlie Adam: Until he either leaves Ibrox or gets himself a permanent spot in the Rangers first team, we'll always be linked with a move for Charlie after his loan spell with us last season. It's fairly unlikely to come true, especially with us having signed a few midfielders in recent weeks and him scoring a hat trick last night.
Jim McIntyre: If McIntyre can successfully negotiate a pay off with Dundee United then he could end up coming to us. Experienced, decent goal scoring record and will know Gus from his time with Killie. Almost the ideal signing, however a few other teams are chasing him too.
Derek Young: This rumour seems to have disappeared a bit recently, with Hamilton and Dundee rumoured to be after him. Let's hope one of them signs him!
OUT
Craig Hinchcliffe: There were rumours that one of our goalkeepers was heading to Forfar on loan, and also rumours on the Forfar website they were bringing in an SPL keeper on loan. Hinchcliffe would therefore be the obvious choice.
CONFIRMED
Garry Brady: Dundee midfielder Brady moved to Love Street after being asked to take a pay cut at Dens Park, even though I said in the last issue it's unlikely we'd sign him.
Richard Brittain: Another player I thought it was unlikely we'd sign. Oops!
NOT HAPPENING
Tom Brighton: The Clyde forward decided to try his luck down south and joined Millwall.
Andy Lawrie: Falkirk's former right back signed a two year deal with St. Johnstone.
Jim Lauchlan: Thankfully one of the worst defenders in the first division decided to sign for Queen of the South.
Simon Lynch: The Dundee striker has decided to move to a club in Australia.
Neil Macfarlane: A few clubs were after the former Aberdeen midfielder, but there was only one place he was going when Gretna expressed an interest, and it wasn't Love Street.
David MacNamee: Was fairly unlikely we'd get David back, even if we tried to, and he's decided to have another spell in England, this time with Coventry City.
Derek McInnes: Looked to be signing for St. Johnstone, but decided to take the mega bucks offered by Millwall instead.
Alex Rae: The former Rangers midfielder is now player/manager of Dundee.
Neil Scally: The released Falkirk midfielder has now signed for Queen of the South.
David van Zanten: When the last issue was written it looked likely he was leaving, but instead he chose to sign a new two year contract and stay at Love Street.
That's all for this issue!
