What happens is that I post rumours that have appeared on other sites or in the media possibly signing for Saints or leaving Love Street. If a rumour is confirmed as being true or false, I'll say as much in the next issue. However, if he signs or leaves without appearing here, he won't be mentioned.
Many of these are stolen from Black & White Army's rumour mill, but who cares?
IN
Rab Douglas: Saints need a new goalkeeper with experience and Douglas seems to be the one we're being linked with - despite the fact he's not very good.
Robbie Fowler: Denied by the club last week, but might as well post it here for the sheer comedy value.
Stephen Glass: Rumours about Saints signing the midfielder from Hibs have been floating around for a while, and it did seem at one point he was close to signing. Still talk that the move could take place, with Dunfermline - who Glass was on loan with last season - also interested.
Don Hutchison: Almost as laughable as signing Fowler. No chance for financial reasons.
Andy Kirk: The former Hearts striker wants to leave Northampton and would be an excellent signing, but a transfer fee would be required and he might want more than we can offer in wages.
David Logue: A young midfielder from Kilmarnock, seems a bit of a strange rumour.
Steven Lennon: A talented Rangers youngster who could be coming on loan to Ibrox.
Paul Mathers: Saints were close to signing the East Fife player as a goalkeeping coach, but it fell through. May be resurrected if we can't get anyone else.
Allan Russell: Don't laugh! He's training with the squad, just as Alex Burke and Richard Brittain were doing last summer.
Jay Shields: Released by Hibs after loan spells last season, don't know much else about him.
Stewart Wohlgemuth: Some randome player someone's come u[ with - can't even find him on Google!
OUT
Alan Reid: An extremely pathetic rumour but there's nothing else to fill this space! There were suggestions Reido wasn't on the pre-season trip to Italy, but these are probably nonsense.
CONFIRMED
Craig Dargo: An excellent piece of business from Saints, the striker was one of four players signed the same day.
John Sutton: Unsurprisingly, Sutton left and ended up signing for the mighty Wycombe Wanderers.
NOT HAPPENING
Dyron Daal: In the end the former Aberdeen man didn't go to the States and signed for Saints instead. Sadly, it was St. Johnstone who took him.
David McCracken: Saints did have interested in the Dundee United defender, but he signed for Wycombe.
Michael Mols: The chances of getting the former Rangers man were slim and he signed for Feyenoord!
David Scullion: One of two Irish players we were linked with, he was signed by Glentoran.
That's all for this time, no doubt the next signing will be someone I missed!
