Summer 2007 Rumour Mill Issue 3

Last updated : 22 August 2007 By Stuart Gillespie
It's fair to say that - apart from a few trialists and the like - there isn't a lot happening in terms of ins and outs at Love Street at the moment - and that even applies to rumours. There haven't been many doing the rounds, and must are fairly far fetched. But here's a round up.

What happens is that I post rumours that have appeared on other sites or in the media possibly signing for Saints or leaving Love Street. If a rumour is confirmed as being true or false, I'll say as much in the next issue. However, if he signs or leaves without appearing here, he won't be mentioned.
Many of these are stolen from Black & White Army's rumour mill, but who cares?

IN

Scott Cuthbert:
Saints could do with another centre half and the Celtic youngster is supposedly available for loan. Could be a decent signing.

Simon Donnelly: It is rumoured the former Celtic youngster will be coming to Saints in a player/exchange move, despite the fact he's out injured for two months!

Tcham N'Toya: The former English lower league striker has been on trial at Love Street for the past couple of weeks and has scored in two reserve games, so there is a very good chance of him signing.

Jim O'Brien: Another young Celtic player who could be available for loan after an impressive spell with Celtic last season.

OUT

Alex Burke:
The rumour is Burke will go to Partick as part of the deal that sees Donnelly come to Love Street.

CONFIRMED

Paul Mathers: One of the summer's most high profile transfer sagas (even bigger than that of Carols Tevez) saw the former Morton goalkeeper appointed a coach at Love Street after new club East Fife agreed to let him go.

NOT HAPPENING

Robbie Fowler: Surprisingly, this rumour was a load of rubbish. Fowler signed for Cardiff City a few weeks back.

Kris Gate: The former Newcastle United youngster was on trial with Saints but it was decided not to sign him.

Stephen Glass: Saints were definitely in for the Hibs midfielder, but he decided to return to Dunfermline.

Don Hutchison: The former Scotland international recently signed for Luton Town.

Alan Reid: There were suggestions Reido was leaving - utter nonsense as he's got squad number 3!

Allan Russell: Thankfully the former Saint signed for Airdrie United, although there was never much chance of him coming back.

Jay Shields: The former Hibs player signed for Morton - so obviously he's not very good.
