Barring the rather old (and weeeeeee) Joe Miller, most of the Clyde team are under the age of twenty four. It was expected in the summer that this lack of experience would be a problem for them, combined with the rather strange managerial style of new boss Graham Roberts and his "Clyde Idol" trial system. However, it hasn't worked out that way and the Bully Wee are currently in mid table, miles clear of both relegation spots.
One reason for their success could be former Morton player Alex Williams. The striker has been banging in the goals of late and seems to have refound his form after being booted out of Cappielow, although he is still nowhere near as good as the Morton fans claimed he was. Clyde have no doubt also been helped by the absence of Paul McHale, the former Saints ghost has been injured for the last month and Clyde have been doing well in that time.
Saints cup heroes head for Broadwood hoping for another three points and another week at the top of the table. Kevin McGowne looked to be struggling after the final whistle last Sunday and could miss out, but apart from that everyone should be fit (providing no one got injured in the celebrations). Brian McGinty could return to the squad, although hopefully he won't, whilst Mark Reilly could return to the starting lineup.
Clyde have been beaten at home just once this season, and I don't think they'll be beaten tomorrow either. 1-0, with Williams scoring.
