Morton v Saints Preview

The Saints management, on the other hand, take the same view as myself. it's little more than a glorified friendly. Some Saints fans treat it quite importantly for some reason, but I don't see the appeal myself. I didn't care about it when we played the likes of Viewfield Rovers in the final, and don't really care about it now. Give me a decent result away to Caley next week over a win tomorrow any day.

Morton have won the last three Renfrewshire Cup finals and then gone on to miss out on promotion in a variety of highly amusing ways. Saints haven't lost to Morton in a proper game since April 1999, despite giving Morton a 2-0 goal head start a few years ago!

Saints have a few injury worries, with Ryan McCay and Billy Mehmet both going to miss out. The team that starts tomorrow will probably be nothing like the one that plays Inverness next week. Some of the new signings, such as Richard Brittain and Alex Burke, may play, whilst others will probably miss out.

Given the attitude of the Saints management to this game, we'll probably end up losing. But, when you consider how we've done after losing the last three finals, is that really a bad thing?
